Talking To Myself

While searching for my sources, my one goal (and hope) was to find sources the talked about the same thing in unique ways. For example, using my article i found written all about Johnny Rotten, that article adds the flavor of a person steeped in this music. I used this article kind of as a centerpiece, filling everything out around it...including using interviews with my current bands like Aiden and Rise Against to help flesh my paper out a bit more. So what worked best for me was to find a solid "root" source then build up from there until I had a nice (though currently incomplete) presentation with an extremely solid foundation.

Looking for Musical Inspiration? Check out MUSE

If uve been stuck in a music rut lately, listening to the same old shit, i strongly encourage u to take a listen to MUSE. MUSE is an English trio, with a music base that blends punk attitude, rock n roll feel and even influences of Jazz and New Wave floating around as well. MUSE has been showcased in such movies as Twilight (song: Supermassive Black Hole) and have gotten better and better with each album! A huge appeal to MUSE, is that their lead singer, Matt Bellamy (and the band in general) sound just like the album live because the put no special effects or any of that bubblegum pop bullshit, making for very straight-forward, appealing rock. Check em out!

Personal Favorite Album: The Resistance

Assigment 6 Aftermath

Holy hell! Well all in all, the paper came off as too reporty, and didn't really have a solid controlling purpose, that of course, is all about to change. After my meeting, i determined a solid controlling purpose. I've decided to take the approach of examining punk as it has evolved into mainstream. Essentially, what i plan to do is examining the idiocy of the punk mentality. As an example, you may think ur extreme in ur own town when ur the only punk around, then you come to a big city, where you're surrounded by "extreme" punks. Anxiety sets in, and you try to stand apart from that, calling those people posers and the like. But are those people posers? Or are the grandchildren of punk simply ALL posers in one form or another? Interesting....

Punk on the Line

For the punk rock dissection, ive decided to analyze how it has effected today's society and society of past decades. Im trying to determine exactly how an "underdog" genre of music still manages to come out on top and be hailed as "the greatest thing in the world" I risk nothing doing this paper, I only prove thus far how effective raw energy of anger and misery can turn in music that EVERYONE listens to.

English 102 Paper Topic

I thought long and hard about what topic I would to discuss and how I would approach the topic. After much deliberation, I have decided to dissect a genre of music, known as Punk Rock. My goal in this essay is to analyze punk from its roots in the 70's to the present time. I think covering this music is very important because all music effects and inspires old and new music. In every type of music, you can hear a potential influence to another type of music. With this essay, I hope to illustrate the important of this genre, and to help dissuade any bad raps that this music has gathered over the years, and to put it in it's rightful place among the best types of music left in the world of media.
